God’s Priest?

The Bible Describes God’s Priest
And they truly were many priests, because they were not suffered to continue by reason of death: But this man, because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood.  Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.  For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens; Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people's: for this he did once, when he offered up himself.
Hebrews 7:23-27

All Human Priesthood is Futile
Those verses from the Bible show once and for all the futility of all human priesthoods! They also explain why no mortal man could ever be an acceptable priest to God: because all human priesthood has been forever replaced by God’s last priest, Jesus Christ. Yet thousands of people still honor mere men as priests of God.

Every Human Priest is Inadequate
Hebrews 7:23-27 compares the temporary, Jewish priesthood of the Old Testament to the priesthood of Jesus Christ. From this comparison we see why no priesthood on earth can ever fulfill God’s requirements:

First, God’s priest must never die, but live forever to intercede on behalf of his confessors.
Second, he must be perfectly holy and not ever associated with sin.
Third, he must have a worthy sacrifice to offer to God as a payment for sin. No man on earth today, regardless of his claims, can qualify.

Intercession or Interference?
The fact is that human priests, instead of being representatives of Jesus Christ, actually stand in the way of Christ’s intercession for sinners.

God’s Priest is the Only True Mediator
The Bible states emphatically that there is only “one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus” (1Tim. 2:5) and that only those who approach God by the intercession of Jesus Christ receive salvation. Those who confess their sins to a human priest, or receive the sacraments from a human priest cannot be saved, but those who come to God by Jesus Christ and accept him as their only priest are forever saved by his faithful intercession.

"Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them."  - Hebrews 7:25

God’s Priest Offered One Final Sacrifice
No priest on earth today has any authority from the Bible. The Bible declares Jesus Christ to be God’s final and only successful priest. His priesthood is eternal and unchangeable. His sacrifice was “once for all”. Those who put their trust directly in him are saved forever.

And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;  ...For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.” - Hebrews 10:11-14

Call for a Real Priest!
Speak to Jesus Christ right now; ask him to forgive your sins and be your priest, and the Bible states that  you will be immediately and forever  saved as a result of that simple act of faith. “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” - Romans 10:13
